August 9, 2018

The Ambassador of Maldives to Japan H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Uvais attended the 73rd Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony held in Peace Park in Nagasaki City, along with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and representatives of 71 nations.

In the ceremony held in front of Peace Statue, flowers were offered and a Peace Declaration was made by the Mayor Tomihisa Taue, followed by a chorus performance by school children. Matching the time that the atomic bomb was dropped at 11:02 AM, there was silence as everyone attending offered their prayers for the realization of everlasting world peace.
